MUMBAI, India (AP) - Anheuser-Busch, the world's largest brewer, introduced an Indian-brewed Budweiser on Friday as part of the company's plan to tap into the country's booming economy, a top official said.

While India is one of the world's largest markets for spirits, it ranks near the bottom among beer-guzzling nations.

Anheuser-Busch, however, sees great potential in the country.

Edwards: Going Green Brings Manufacturing Jobs

 
 Millions of manufacturing jobs can result from collaboration between blue-collar industries and environmental projects, Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards told a union political gathering Thursday.
 
''The Blue Green Alliance really can create 1 million, 2 million new manufacturing jobs to replace some of the jobs that have been lost,'' Edwards told about 600 political activists from the United Steelworkers of America union at a conference on reviving U.S. manufacturing.

Nickel Mine Uses 400 tonnes of Stainless Steel

 
When ASSDA Accredited Fabricator Nepean Engineering was awarded the tender for the manufacture of the stirring mechanisms for 10 thickeners for the Goro Nickel Mine in New Caledonia, they had no idea of the enormity of the venture. But having now completed the two-year undertaking they reflect on what has been their biggest stainless steel project to date.

Call for recycling inventions

 
 Imperial Innovations Group today launched a nationwide call for recycling propositions that have the potential to make a significant difference in reducing the amount of waste going to landfill in the UK.

Up to £100,000 worth of commercial support is being offered to successful applicants by the Imperial Innovations Recycling Commercialisation Centre (IIRCC) to bring their ideas, technologies or products to market.

Engineers at Purdue University have developed a technique to grow individual carbon nanotubes vertically on top of a silicon wafer, a step toward making advanced electronics, wireless devices and sensors using nanotubes by stacking circuits and components in layers.
