Did you know Trivia - Scientists recently announced the discovery in northwestern Madagascar of a large amphibian nicknamed the "devil frog" which lived about 65 million to 70 million years ago. They believe that it was extremely aggressive and could have eaten newborn dinosaurs. Obviously this frog was much larger than any of today's frogs and could be the biggest frog which ever lived, according to paleontologist David Krause of Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York, one of the scientists who found the remains. It has been named, Beelzebufo ampinga, which comes from Beelzebub, the Greek for devil, and bufo -- Latin for toad. Ampinga means "shield," named for an armor-like part of its anatomy. Beelzebufo (pronounced bee-el-zeh-BOOF-oh) was 16 inches (40cm) long and weighed in at about 10 pounds (4.5 kg). Being powerfully built and having a very wide mouth with powerful jaws. It probably didn't have good table manners |

Did you know Trivia - An entire range of eco-underwear including knickers and bras is being created from wood by an innovative clothes designer. The finished garments are claimed to be as soft as silk, so splinters are not an issue. The fibres are extracted from tree branches before being spun into a fabric which is then used to make the eco-underwear. The production process starts with large branches being selected from white pine trees in North America and Canada during normal harvesting and they are then shipped to Montilliers in France for processing The lingerie has been created by French fashion designer Sophie Young after her child suffered an allergic reaction to dye in clothing. The fabric has many more microscopic holes than polyester, and so extra air can circulate making for a more hygienic product. The natural fibres are also claimed to absorb twice as much humidity (engineers might call that sweat) than cotton which prevents bacteria from growing. |
