Rowan Atkinson was almost an Electircal Engineer
Clipped to the Drawing Board by Ryan  
I bet you never knew that Rowan Atkinson was actually well on his way to becoming an electrical engineer before his change of course into humor that eventually led to successes with Black Adder and Mr Bean.  He completed his degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Newcastle University, and went on to do an MSc in Engineering Science at Oxford.  Interestingly he also dislikes the limlight and is said to have Electrical engineer down as his occupation on his passport.

well the last post leaves me speechless - after Blair's adventures in Iraq i would class him as funny, but not funny ha ha -
strange how famous people sometimes are connected - i wonder if they ever meet up over a few drinks - Blair's wife Cherie is the daughter of actor Anthony Booth who was in the BBC sitcom "Till Death Us do Part" so there is a common thespian theme running through the group

he has that sort of "thinking" style which would give me confidence that had he continued with engineering then he would have made a good engineer - as opposed to someone like Robin Williams who is extremely funny but in a continuous hyper fidgeting style - I wouldn't let him anywhere near a completed machine , never mind designing one

I could imagine a script with Blackadder as an electrical engineer and Baldrick his trusty assistant - maybe I should send him some ideas - my place is a laugh a minute - although sometimes for reasons other than humor

off hand i can't think of any tv which is set in a factory and they can be very funny places to work with lots of strange characters - so yes, why not a tv comedy - anybody got any funny stories ?
