Improving MotorCycle Safety
|
Safety systems have improved significantly on cars but largely bypassed the most vulnerable road users: those on motorcycles and scooters. Special report by Motoring Editor JOSHUA DOWLING.
Each time a motorcyclist sets off on a journey, be it for work or a weekend escape, he or she is four times more likely to die than a car driver. If a motorcyclist happens to be involved in a crash with another vehicle, the risk of death increases yet again. In that event, a motorcyclist is 20 times more likely to die than a car driver.
