Electric car 'a blast to drive'

EDMONTON - Nap Pepin's Sherwood Park home is a gallery of technological inventions from built-in stereo systems in his cabinets to a customized remote control that scrolls through channels and music playlists at lightning speed.

"I'm such a geek," he said with a laugh, showing off a homemade arcade helicopter game that deploys fake bombs and contains light and sound effects.

But his newest creation -- a sleek, white, lithium-powered electric vehicle -- has turned heads and attracted smiles and thumbs-up signs from strangers.
