Once upon a time there was a non conforming sparrow who decided NOT to fly South for the winter  (we've all got them, well maybe not sparrows, but non-conformists)

As the weather turned colder and colder, the sparrow realised that there was a very good reason why birds do in fact fly South for the winter.  The sparrow reluctantly swallowed all of it's pride and set off to fly South to warmer climes.

Unfortunately the weather had turned very, very cold and the sparrows wings soon began to freeze and ice up.  The bird could not fly and it fell to earth into a farmyard. It was in a very sad state and feared that it would freeze to death.

Just as the sparrow was almost dead, a cow passed by and "dumped" on the poor little bird.

The sparrow thought that this must surely be the end of it's life.

But the warm manure started to defrost the little bird.  Very soon it was warmed through and very happy in this cosy environment.

It was so happy with it's new found state that it started to sing.

A large farmyard cat happened to be passing by and heard the singing.

The cat went to investigate. 

It cleared away the manure, found the bird and ate it.

This story contains three very important lessons:-

1. Someone who shits on you is not necessarily your enemy
2. Someone who gets you out of the shit is not necessarilly your friend
3. If you're in a pile of shit but comfortable, it may be better to keep you're mouth shut, keep quiet and enjoy it because there may be a big cat out there just waiting to eat you
