An Engineering Article about Nothing

An Engineering Article about Nothing Sometimes I think that this could be the story of my life So much unfulfilled promise
It's a good job that I have a thick skin, otherwise I could get a complex
Anyway, read on -----
It had been one of those weeks – As always, so much happening and as I sat down to write this piece my brain was overcrowded with valuable Engineering insights and comment which I need to share and I knew that my readers were avidly waiting in fevered anticipation. Desperate to know what had been happening in my world. I was just bubbling over with enthusiasm. The subject matter was overflowing, engulfing my thought process. There was so much to write, I was struggling to know where and how to start.
Keep it short and to the point I keep telling myself. Keep the terminology simple. Keep the language simple, don't go off into hyperspace. Don't start using long drawn out obscure words or phrases when the same meaning can be achieved in a much simpler way. Remember - KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) is definitely an advantage when writing this style of article.
My theory is that readers want a quick grab, Get the message across and move on. Who has the time to read masses of content when a short sharp incisive thrusts will suffice. I don't believe that readers want to be insulted or assaulted by authors who are more interested in massaging their egos by demonstrating a superb and extensive command of English grammar and the subtle nuances of the English language. After all, this is an Engineering site. Cut to the chase - dummy Similarly readers don't want to think that they are being subjected to a “dumbed down” second rate article or a crude and overly simplistic few paragraphs which have been cobbled together by an illiterate excuse for a “contributor” who has obviously plagiarized a few random web sites.
Now, I thought to myself, what incredibly interesting and invaluable piece of Engineering comment shall I start with, where shall I go with it, how shall I link it to other sites and relative information, so that having sown the seeds of interest, the readers can “follow up” , in order to find more deep and meaningful information, if, of course, they so desire.
There are so many things to discuss and so many different avenues which could be taken
The only question was – Were do I start ? And all of this put me back at square 1 (see above)
You know what ? - It was just all too hard.
I went to the fridge and opened a cold beer instead. I decided that the best course of action was to think about next weeks article –
So for now -- Hasta la Vista - baby.
