I'm not sure I understand how they can get 230mpg. First of all are they going just by the ICE alone or is this some kind of combination where they drive the 120 miles on the batteries and then go another 110 on the diesel. The maximum I get is about 147mpg on ICE alone and that's without using any rolling resistance. I wish there was more information.

The web site is not opening for me at the moment - I have read it once but would like to read it again - I guess that you are correct in as much as - the end result is what they achieve with a combination of power expended and the fuel used - hence this figure (in mpg)- An interesting question tho' how to measure fuel/energy usage in a combination power supply and have meaning full figures to use for comparison purposes
