progeCAD is a computer aided 2D & 3D design program. It's based on the IntelliCAD engine which just happens to be one of AutoCAD's most powerful challengers. Because AutoCAD is the most widely used professional CAD software on the market today, anything that competes in AutoCAD's sandbox has to be able to not only vie for attention in a difficult and entrenched environment, but also provide some incentives to move off the industry standard. ProgeSOFT is a serious company with a serious CAD product and offers extensive technical product support, so we decided to give progeCAD a heavy duty test. We reviewed progeCAD over a two month period in a busy architectural and industrial design studio. The results may surprise you.

Where do these names come from ? Anyway, the product. yes , I'm Autocad trained and that's all I know, so I don't want to start learning a new package. So to get pretty much the same at a lot less cost won me over. Look - people will talk about issues, but I've been around Autocad long enough to know that Autocad have their fair share of bugs. Did I ever tell you about ACad 13

There are plenty of second rate wannabe's
But stay with the real thing. These packages might save you a few dollars up front - but for what heartache further down the track. If it ain't got AutoCad on the box, it ain't AutoCad

It's good to see what seems to be some solid competition to AutoDesk. Competition in general leads to better products and that will benefit us all.

Can anyone list any other competitors that are worth noting?
